BBC Launches Rival Arabic TV Channel

The BBC is to launch an Arabic news TV channel in competition with al-Jazeera, it was announced last week. The 24-hour channel would be broadcast across the Middle East and funded by the Foreign Office. It would also be available to Arabic viewers in the UK and Europe. Source: Scotsman.com
