Revamp of old Joburg cinema

The Victory Theatre in Houghton Estates, Johannesburg, initially built in 1929 as a cinema and recently revamped to international standards, will be holding its official gala ceremony on 31 May 2007. The proudly South African theatre production Africa Umoja, which has found a permanent home at the theatre after touring 26 countries, will be performing to celebrity and media guests at the opening. The venue offers a 470-seated theatre, a jazz bar and a traditional African restaurant, as well as four-storey car park with full security.
