Star photographers shine at Fuji Awards

Photographers of The Star have excelled at the 2001 Fuji Photo Press Awards. Of the eight categories in contention, Siphiwe Sibeko won four - News, Feature, Picture Story and Print of the Year, while Debbie Yazbek, The Star's chief photographer, won two - Sport and People in the News. Kim Ludbrook was runner-up in the News and Picture Story categories, while Neo Ntsoma won a judges selection award in the Feature category. City Press photographer Mpho Mphotho won the Abdul Shariff Award, and Beeld photographer Halden Krog was named 2001 Fujifilm Press Photographer of the Year.
