3D wall in the ‘art of Newtown

3D wall in the ‘art of Newtown

Plascon has transformed an abandoned and dilapidated wall in the heart of bustling Newtown, Johannesburg, into South Africa's allegedly first 3D graffiti wall. "Graffiti is an art form which, when used appropriately can be appreciated by all,” says Monde Sussman, group brand manager for Plascon.”3D graffiti art, especially, is innovative and different and is exactly why Plascon was attracted to this project. Hopefully this inspires other artists to transform one dimensional canvases into three-dimensional works of art. Located at the corner of Miriam Makeba and Jeppe Streets, behind Mary Fitzgerald Square, the Plascon Urban 3D Wall was designed by Craig Drummond of CDD designs and painted by renowned mural artists MakOne, Rasty and Johannesburg's number one underground “graf” artist, Curio.
