Two tons in two hours
Thousands of chocolate lovers descended on Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton, on Saturday, 27 May 2006, to take advantage of Canderel's Free Chocolate Day in which two tons of chocolate were given away on a first come, first served basis - one of the largest sampling exercises ever undertaken in South Africa. "The response to Free Chocolate Day was overwhelming," says Canderel brand manager Deshendri Reddy. "It was a feat of note to distribute two tons of chocolate."
