e.tv, in serious financial difficulties, has sold the rights to screen the 2002 Soccer World Cup to Supersport for a reputed R21-million, roughly a quarter of the original purchase price of R80-million. e.tv has only been able to sell R5-million's worth of advertising to date, and are left with a deficit of more than R50-million.
