AMASA September meeting
Always a hot industry topic, the meeting reviewed the 2005 Cannes Advertising Festival and took a closer look at the winning Media Lions. The meeting's sponsor, Sunday World literally transformed our new vibrant venue, the JSE, into a French landscape, guests received a warm welcome from a talented French Accordian player, walked movie-star, Cannes style, down the red carpet, and sipped away on Cap Classique "champagne" (origin Franschhoek!). As a draw card for any advertising and media professional, the 2005 Cannes Media Lions topic filled the JSE auditorium to capacity, as key industry players, media planners, marketers and media owners attended to find out first-hand what contributes to winning a Media Lion at this prestigious event.
Excellently presented by leading industry expert Sue Rooney, Pan Africa Media Director from Universal McCann, and South African representative on the 2005 Cannes Media Lions judging panel, Sue shared her experience, knowledge and expertise with the audience through an engaging presentation showcasing winning entries.
