Sasol Rugby Commercial

Big petrochemical company, Springbok rugby stars, epic rugby battle - who knew this would be the recipe for one of the most poorly shot and pathetically executed TV commercials of recent memory. I was excited at hearing about this ad - the storyboard hinted at a truly memorable, evocative commercial. What resulted was an effort which would have been better produced by three drunken film students with a series of overdeveloped polaroid photos. Was the director/dop seeking revenge on the agency??
