Hair-raising shampoo ads
Last night I was exposed to more than five ads for hair shampoo but what struck me is the fact that I have been observing for weeks on end and not once have I seen a hair shampoo for black/ ethnic hair.
Sunsilk dumped us for reasons unknown to me, and for interest's sake the Black Elite is growing tremendously and we can afford to buy these items. Why are we not being marketed to? Have we lost importance? It's not like Sunsilk is not currently doing any promotions--they are just not for Black hair shampoos- we do use shampoo! These brand managers need to revisit their strategies and do more research or their brands will decay-look what happened to Black Like Me when they stopped advertising.
