Speaking of own experience of such a recent rationalisation and
fortunate enough to still be standing - reality soon kicks in as
new 'saving' measures kick in. NO bonus, more work - which begs the very real danger - that the media industry will use this
crisis to abuse their staff - a disaster for journo's who aren't the best paid kids on the block.

We love our craft to the point of being underpaid for using our own cars / equipment such as cell phones and calls made from there / no overtime or double pay for holidays and weekend work ... the list of small and big add-ups are endless.

We may not be able to fight the new unethical behaviour of companies but let's expose and give it the forum it desperately need as there must be thousands that are also turning into indentured slave or risk losing the small bit of livelihood they still have.

The question needs to be asked - How many cuts and rationalisation projects is but a masked greed of the corporate world to cash in and what will the emotional and fiscal price be for those remaining standing and, more importantly, can you afford to keep on working or is it making you poorer?
