This Is It smashes presale box office records
This Is It, the Michael Jackson film scheduled to open on Wednesday, 28 October 2009, has broken all previous pre-sale ticket records for a film release in South Africa. Ster-Kinekor announced yesterday, Tuesday 20 October, that it has sold over 18 000 tickets to date.
Shows will take place in Johannesburg (SK Fourways), Durban (SK Gateway), Cape Town (Cavendish Square) and Pretoria (SK Sterland). Each will have an early morning live satellite link to the Los Angeles-premiere of This Is It, and will include plenty of other thrills to make this an iconic Michael Jackson-experience.
Following the 2am premieres of the film, it then starts showing at Ster-Kinekor Theatres nationwide for a special, limited two week-release (normal show times & ticket prices apply).
