Discovering the ‘reel' Israel
Films on offer at the festival range from a variety of themes focusing on religious beliefs, the Holocaust, identity and human relationships. Must-sees on the festival are the films Out of Sight – for which director Daniel Syrkin won the Israeli equivalent of the Academy Award (Oscar) – and the festival's opening night film Three Mothers (which also garnered a few accolades at the Israeli Academy Awards last year and at various international film festivals).
Other films include family drama Three Mothers; short drama Pesya's Necklace (to be screened with short romantic comedy Like a Fish Out of Water); drama Dear Mr Waldman, drama Wasserman – The Rain Man; drama A Green Chariot; and romance Something Sweet.
