Tourism Radio launches free Cape Point Route app

Cape Point Route is the latest destination marketing organisation (DMO) to partner with Tourism Radio and produce an interactive mobile audio travel guide. It follows Cape Town Tourism, Gauteng Tourism and South African Tourism, to name just a few.
Tourism Radio launches free Cape Point Route app

Covering the entire Cape Peninsula, the Cape Point Route app is available free on iPhone and Android mobile devices. The app features comprehensive info about more than 80 points of interest around the Cape Peninsula. These include restaurants and accommodation facilities, various activities for young and old alike and a host of cultural and historic attractions for visitors to the Cape.

With Cape Town's traditional summer tourist high season well on its way, Cape Point Route's Sally Grierson says they are hoping to offer visitors a travel guide app like no other. "Cape Point Route has long been a trusted name when it comes to information about where to go, what to do, where to stay and where to eat around 'Cape Town's Playground'. Through our new app, we're hoping to provide visitors with an easy way to access this information on the fly, whether it's for holiday planning and research before they arrive in the Cape, or for search and discovery once they've arrived.

First of its kind

"Each point of interest features high quality images, detailed text descriptions and contact information for anyone looking to find out more. It is the only mobile guide of its kind aimed specifically at visitors to the Cape Point Route, by people from the Cape Point Route."

Tourism Radio's Mark Allewell agrees, "The thing that sets the Cape Point Route app apart is that the information it contains is 100% homegrown and tailored towards the visitor. We produce a number of apps for DMO in South Africa and across the world and Cape Point Route has covered all the bases. It's the perfect holiday companion when visiting the Cape and we look forward to receiving feedback from our users."
