Legislature opens at commuter hubs

The Gauteng Provincial Department integrated several ComutaNet media platforms into its broadcast of the recent Opening of Legislature. To ensure the campaign's efficacy, ComutaNet used two popular audio mediums, Star Radio and Commuter fm, buttressed by the audiovisual medium, Rank TV, to transmit the Legislature communication.

The live broadcast was flighted for two hours on ComutaNet's television screens situated at prominent commuter hubs around the Province.

To ensure the bulk of Gauteng commuters viewed or heard the Opening of Legislature for a week following the initial broadcast, ComutaNet transmitted daily snippets on Star Radio and Commuter FM. Commuter FM, broadcast at Metrorail train stations, aired 14 two minute sound bytes over three periods with high listernership, and Star Radio, which broadcasts to commuter hubs, transmitted 20 two minutes repeats in similarly strategic slots.

Kenneth Maomela, ComutaNet's Executive Chairman, says: "ComutaNet is pleased to be a favoured communication vehicle for the Province to convey a crucial message to citizens and voters. As media owners we strive to deliver our patrons top-of-mind awareness and understand Government priorities are to ensure its communications on advertising platforms are effective, reach their target audience, and make a difference.

"The broadcast media incorporated in the overall campaign, reach consumers at a time of day when traditional media cannot, ensured that the Gauteng Provincial Department's message was delivered efficiently and successfully to the right audience."
