Winner of Bizcommunity #myofficeinafrica competition announced

Participants from across South Africa and the entire African continent were invited to snap pictures of their office or workplace, business interior or exteriors, architecture, signage and their work teams, along with a description of the company in order to stand a chance to win an iPad Mini.

We were overwhelmed by the support and response and the quality of the images we received and this has made choosing the winner exceedingly hard.

Entries came from afar afield as @osmosisfutzing from Kigali, East Africa, @white_african in Nairobi, Kenya, and @austinmadinga in Blantyre Malawi, as well as awesome images spanning the full breadth of SA's creative and industrious business communities, from tech to tyres, education to healthcare and more. This confirms what we expected: business in SA is full of vibrant, connected companies and individuals poised to be globally competitive.

The Biz IT team cleverly devised a front-page widget, which allowed selected photos from the incoming entries to be showcased on the website homepage to 494,275 readers across 20 business sectors thus offering even more exposure for participants.

In the end, the judges' decision as to the best pic was based on a number of criteria - best photo quality, best capture, best expression of the #myofficeinafrica ethos!

There were so many incredible shots and office spaces that we feel truly privileged and grateful to have been given a window into all these amazing workspaces and the participation from all over South Africa and the rest of Africa. The winning image by @kirsten85 from her office @junglecorner in Cape Town, is fresh and unexpected and covers all the bases of a uniquely African office! Thanks again to everyone for making the competition such a success!
