Sally Burdett joins eNews Prime Time

One of South Africa's most experienced print and broadcast journalists, Sally Burdett, has joined e.tv's news team as an anchor on eNews Prime Time at 7pm. She starts on Monday, 7 November and will alternate with Pat Pillai.

Burdett is standing in for Debora Patta, Editor-in-Chief of eNews, who is on maternity leave for four months. "It is a privilege to welcome Sally on board, as she is an accomplished journalist and anchor," says Patta, who will continue hosting 3rd Degree every week.

Burdett has worked in journalism for 17 years, most recently on Fairlady magazine as Consumer Editor and later as Johannesburg Bureau Chief. Before that, she spent 14 years in radio and television broadcasting.

"I am thrilled to be back in the hot seat of television news," she says. "There is nothing quite like the buzz of a newsroom when a major story breaks and the excitement when you are about to share that information with the nation.

"I am looking forward to working in an independent newsroom where journalists care passionately about the news. The e.tv news team has some solid talent and I hope that I will play my part in showcasing their hard work for the time that I am here."
