Essential or not? The debate over aviation services heats up

Gab Mampone, group executive: commercial enterprises, SABC, says, "The SABC appreciates the difficulties faced by the South African advertiser, brought about by power outages, escalating interest rates and soaring fuel prices.
"We value our business partners and to support them, and forge new relationships with others, we have reduced the SABC's long-term advertising rates," he says. "Our Long Term Rates reduction compliments the SABC's current value for money proposition," he adds.
The SABC is also endeavouring to contain its per channel rates month-on-month, 2008 versus 2007, to a maximum of 10% from July 2008 until November 2008. "Advertisers are urged to act now and make their bookings," Mampone concludes.
