Satirical animation series airs
Kiep Kiep and Sporro are street barbers who pass the breeze on a street corner in Soweto talking about the topical issue of the day. From Bafana Bafana bowing out of the African Cup of Nations to venting their anger out at Eskom and criticising Blade Nzimande for intimidating City Press, the two barbers are neither afraid to shy away from any topic nor to say exactly what is on their mind.
According to the producers, what makes Kiep Kiep and Sporro different to any other South African animation is the content – this social satire covering contemporary and relevant issues in a humourous and controversial manner.
The voices behind the two barbers are Lefty Ngoepe (Kiep Kiep) and Letabo Leopeng (Sporro).
Kiep Kiep and Sporro was created, written and produced by Batana Vundla.
