Nedbank Cup preliminary fixtures for TV
“From a Nedbank point of view, we extremely delighted that over 60% of the preliminary Nedbank Cup games are being broadcasted. We can start setting the mood for the tournament early already,” said Nedbank head of group sponsorships, Andy Scott.
Scott also gave the National First Division clubs a vote of confidence, adding that he believes the preliminary round will serve out a few contenders for the Nedbank Cup.
First time on TV
The clubs were excited at the prospects of having their games televised. “It's the first time we going to be on television at this level. It will definitely give the players extra motivation and the will to win,” commented a thrilled Tso Mokeane, African Warriors Communications Manager.
Warriors travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium to take on Maritzburg United on today, Friday, 25 January 2008.
Abednego Msibi, manager of Witbank Spurs, was equally thrilled at the latest development. “We are very excited especially as we have the opportunity to showcase the Mpumanalanga Province as well,” said Msibi. “And the players are excited too as the exposure they'll be receiving will allow them to be spotted by some of the bigger clubs in South Africa.”
