Radio Today is rocking
Independent community radio station 1485am Radio Today has a new rock music line-up. Joining Rockit Scientist Leon Economides are well-known rock, blues and jazz presenters Chris Prior (the Rock Professor), Phil Wright (the Metalhead), Rafe Lavine (Hot Dog Radio) and David Blood (In your Vein).
The rock programme schedule will include numbers rarely heard on commercial stations, on Friday, Sunday and Monday evenings after 8pm, with repeats during the week.
As Economides says: "Other radio stations can't always play the interesting material, as they are bound by commercial playlists. 1485am Radio Today is completely independent and sponsors Look & Listen are keen to support rock music."
Station manager Sanele Sobantwana says: "The new Friday, Sunday and Monday evening line-up is part of 1485am Radio Today's objective of giving listeners music that they really want to hear and will include local as well as overseas content."
