Kaya FM 95.9 - Blast off from new premises!
At 9:59am on 1st August 2005 Kaya FM will do their first broadcast from their new home in Newtown. This is no ordinary day, but Kaya FM's 8th birthday celebration as well. A two metre cone-shaped cake will be served to all Kaya FM's neighbours, friends, clients and abomKayas - in fact anyone who visits them on the 1 August 2005.
Charlene Deacon, managing director of Kaya FM says; "We hope that the big switch over will go as well as planned. With great optimism we trust that our first broadcast from Newtown will have no hiccups. We are taking the necessary steps and precautions to ensure that all mKayas will get their regular dose of Kaya FM's music and exciting talk shows."
Khethiwe Kubheka, marketing manager of Kaya FM says; "The studios are beautiful! The only thing left to install is all Kaya FM's staff members to add to the Kaya FM vibe and spirit of Newtown."
Kaya FM fans should also remember on August 21st mKaya will be thumping to the diverse sounds and rhythms from different artists. Tickets are on sale at Computicket - R75 per person for VIP mKaya Club Members and R150 per person for non-club members. Listeners are invited to join the Club at www.kayafm.co.za for free. Patrons are urged to secure their tickets long in advance since none will be on sale at the venue on the day of the event. The concert will take place at Newtown Park from 10h00am.
