Sedumedi’s R2.3m victory: A costly lesson in vague contracts

The station wishes to apologise to all its loyal cricket, football and rugby fans for any inconvenience caused. In a statement issued yesterday, Radio 2000 says it will however continue to broadcast the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup with live commentary on 97.2-100FM nationwide.
Radio 2000's station manager, Carlito Sheikh, said: "FIFA contracts prohibit the SABC from broadcasting via live audio streaming, regrettably. However Radio 2000 listeners and the rest of South Africa will hear all the cricket, rugby and Confederations Cup action as it happens, live, on Radio 2000 nationwide on 97.2 - 100Fm."
