The likes of Gregory Porter and Lira have graced the Kaya FM Live & Unplugged stage. The concept has grown extensively and streamed live for the first time from Kaya House last year with Zakes Bantwini and has gone on to feature the late Lulu Dikana and Proverb to name but a few.
Last night the 'Home of the Afropolitan' did it again when its Live & Unplugged was streamed live from a billboard off-site in the Sandton CBD in real time. This first for the station featured one of South Africa's living musical greats, Ma'm Dorothy Masuka, who is celebrating her 80th birthday in September. Ma'm Dorothy's presence was a great end to Women's Month as her interview was an honest account of her musical journey.
This multimedia first is indicative of the evolution of radio which can now be consumed on various media channels and not just within the FM channel.
