NAB public tender process concludes with TNS Research Surveys appointed

The NAB is pleased to announce that TNS Research Surveys has been awarded the contract for a five-year period. "We are delighted with the outcome of the NAB's transparent and rigorous tender process," said Nadia Bulbulia, Executive Director of the NAB. This announcement follows a robust tender process managed by Yardstick, an independent procurement consultancy. The shortlisted companies submitted proposals of high quality and due to the very stringent Yardstick scorecard evaluation process, which included international and local industry experts, the NAB was able to reach a sound decision.

The industry's newly established Broadcast Research Council of South Africa ("BRC") will be managing the contract and its Interim CEO, Clare O'Neil, signed the agreement on Friday, 12 June 2015. Richard Rice of TNS Research Surveys says, "we've gone through a really good process with the NAB and BRC and we look forward to a successful rollout of the new survey."

The industry agreed to the extension of AMPS/RAMS to "roll over" for 2015 to ensure stability and to provide a smooth transition into the new radio survey. The NAB Radio Research Committee Chairperson, Tracy Stafford, has been appointed as Chair of the BRC Radio Research Committee. She commented that "this has been a wonderful process that provided the committee the opportunity to focus on what's best for radio research. I'm excited about working with TNS and the additional insights into radio listening that the new contract will provide."
