Time to create radio theatre

To encourage the medium of sound (the theatre of the mind), SAfm is inviting writers to create a one hour radio play in English. The station is looking for new and original ideas that writers can bring to the airwaves. Plays must be specifically written for radio; stage plays or plays requiring adaptation will not be considered.

There are no limits to the choice of topics or the style of writing: Comedy, Tragedy, Fable or Folklore, social or domestic drama (slice of life) etc and there is no restriction on the number of entries which an author may submit.

The first prize is R50,000, the second R30,000 and the third, R20,000. Closing date of the competition is 28 February 2015. The winners will be announced on SAfm on 31 March 2015.
