Hilton Cape Town City Centre turns one

Hilton Cape Town City Centre celebrated its first anniversary recently congratulating itself on the way it has managed - largely by working the Hilton HHonors membership base of 30 million global travellers - to successfully turn around a site that had failed under previous managers.

"The past year has certainly been one of opportunity and growth, for both Hilton Cape Town City Centre and Hilton Worldwide. We foresee extensive growth opportunities in South Africa and across the African continent; however, my primary focus is to continue providing quality hospitality to our Hilton Cape Town City Centre guests, create a healthy working environment for our team members and be an active, positive corporate citizen in the Cape Town community." So says Markus Fritz, general manager, who adds that the occupancy rate has more than doubled and key areas have been upgraded including the bar, lobby and entrance areas; an executive lounge was also opened to meet guest requirements.

"2012 promises to be another exciting year as we upgrade Bistro 126, introduce an additional meeting room, launch a new outlet concept and continue to drive service excellence for our guests," says Fritz.

The location, on Wale and Buitengracht Streets, makes accessing the city and broader area very convenient with Long Street and other inner-city attractions within easy walking distance.
