A night at Premier Hotel Cape Manor

Just stone throw away from the Sea Point Promenade, you will find Premier Hotel Cape Manor, situated on the corner of Beach and Marias Road, Sea Point. This hotel is conveniently located near shops, restaurants, has an ocean view and is less than a 5-minute walk away from Sea Point Main Road.

With an easily accessible location, this hotel is ideal for business travellers coming to the city for a couple of days.

Upon entering the modernised reception area, I was greeted by the frontdesk staff, however, I had a splitting headache and can't recall if they were friendly or not. This first impression, when arriving at any hotel is how I predict the rest of my stay will pan out. However, I was welcomed with big smiles and knew then that I would enjoy a peaceful stay.

The check-in process was quick and easy with no setbacks at all. Check in is from 2pm daily.

I was booked into a deluxe room on the fifth floor - which means I had a spectacular view of the ocean and the sunset. Luckily, the weather was great so there were no clouds in the skies to block the incredible view.

The deluxe room consists of an en-suite bathroom, in-room safe, and tea and coffee facilities. The rooms are pretty spacious and offer the basics to meet your away-on-business needs.

After settling into my room, I needed to have a bite and headed to the ground floor. I ordered something light and sat on the terrace while soaking up the sun. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a small selection of items.

I wanted to explore the hotel and see what they have to offer but there is no signage as to where any of the facilities are located, and at the time, I didn't see anybody around to ask. Perhaps there is signage, but if there is, it's not very visible.

It wasn't long after this that I went back to my room to rest and watch the sun set.

Here's a compressed clip of what I experienced.

In my opinion, Cape Town has the best sunsets!

Before I knew it, it was time for dinner and I headed down to the restaurant and decided to try the buffet. There was a range of home-style meals on offer, but silly me, I shouldn't have had that earlier meal so I couldn't indulge in everything.

After dinner, I headed to my room for some quite time. I browsed the internet using the free wi-fi which is available in all guestrooms. Guests are issued a voucher upon check-in. I caught up on some rest and watched some television, however, there are only a few select DStv channels - which is a pity.

What I enjoyed most about the quiet time was the ambiance - sea gulls chirping as they flew about, the sound of the waves and the horns of the ships. This, for me, was very settling.
