Amstel Golden Hour has already been to three major concerts: Ringo Madlingozi took to the stage at the ABSA Macufe concert in Bloemfontein; Wanda Baloyi performed at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz; and Lira at the Tribute Concert in Moretele Park.

"Amstel's involvement is entirely focused on creating a premium music experience by showcasing talent, supporting festivals and bringing music and fans together. In a way, it is paying tribute to the hard work, persistence, raw talent, passion and commitment that made these artists the stars that they are today," said Jan-Willem van Wensem, marketing manager of Amstel Lager.

Soweto Sessions

Amstel Golden Hour will add more excitement to music experiences for fans with the launch of its monthly Soweto music concerts on 5 December, 2010, at Dorothy Nyembe Park. These concerts, the Amstel Golden Hour Soweto Sessions, will feature both famous and up-and-coming South African talent and are designed to be casual enough for fans and their friends to bring a picnic blanket and their braai stands.

The inaugural Soweto Sessions concerts will feature performances by the South African Jazz Pops Mohamed & friends (Society vibes fast FWD>>) who will feature guest artists, Zubz and Ntsiki Mazwai. Tumi (of Tumi and the Volume) will perform with his new live band, sharing the stage with the young rap star, AKA. Until December, 2011, Soweto Sessions will host eclectic musical performances from some of South Africa's top artists.
