Shape-up by 2 Feb, or face a labour dispute, cricketers tell CSA

According to SportLIVE, South Africa's cricket players have given the CSA board until the annual meeting on February 2 to emerge from the limbo of "controversy and uncertainty" or face a labour dispute.

The players, represented by the SA Cricketers Association, have previously lodged their dispute with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA). "We have a dispute with CSA about dragging their heels," Tony Irish, the association's chief executive, said, "but we understand that this is a process. I've received a report on the progress that has been made and we are satisfied with that."

He added that CSA did extremely well to follow Nicholson's recommendations. "We're simply saying: 'Finish what you have been doing and get it in place.'" Asked what would happen if sufficient progress was not made at CSA's annual meeting, Irish said "Then we'll have to look at it again," SportLIVE reports.
