Bosman's new Gourmet Experiences

Following its annual winter recess, the acclaimed, award-winning Bosman's Restaurant at Grande Roche Hotel, Paarl, re-opens in early August in time for its popular gourmet evenings - gastronomic highlights on the August and September culinary calendar.
Bosman's new Gourmet Experiences

Under the hand of executive chef Roland Gorgosilich and deputy Etienne Bruwer - both of whom have worked in top Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe - guests will be assured of an unforgettable food and wine experience at Bosman's at Grande Roche, a hotel that has been singled out as one of the world's top dining destinations.

The first Gourmet Experience at Bosman's takes place on 15 August and includes a five-course gourmet dinner with wines specially selected for each course by the internationally-acclaimed winemaker and viticulturist Duncan Savage of Cape Point Vineyards and leading French winemaker Antoine Du Pre of Morgenster Estate.

Duncan's wines have been recognised both locally and internationally with numerous five star ratings in the Platter's guide and Wine magazine, several Wine Spectator ratings and the Best Sauvignon Blanc in the world over £10 according to the Decanter World Wine Awards. Cape Point vineyards have been recognised as Winery of the Year by the 2008 John Platter Wine Guide.

Antoine studied Oenology at the University of Bordeaux and was awarded first prize by the Union of French Oenology. After several stints as winemaker for some prestigious Bordeaux Estates, he joined Morgenster Estate a year ago. Morgenster is an old wine estate that continues to rival the best wine and olive producers in South Africa and in the world.

The second gourmet evening on Saturday, 5 September 2009 will feature Mia Mårtensson, current marketing manager of The Winery of Good Hope and former vice-president of the Swedish Sommelier Association and ex Cellar master at the Grande Roche.

The price for each exclusive Bosman's Gourmet Experience is R780 per person.

A special Grande Roche Gourmet Experience package rate of R1,700 per person sharing has been made available and includes the gourmet evening, accommodation in a luxury room and sparkling wine and oyster buffet and breakfast buffet the following morning.
