Seven-times Tour de France winner and international health icon Lance Armstrong has arrived in South Africa to launch 'Unite 4 Health', a CSI program spearheaded by pharmaceutical company Adcock Ingram that aims to unite all South Africans to create a healthier society.The initiative aims to consolidate Adcock Ingram's CSI spend into a long term strategy as well as calling on other corporates and the South African public to assist an already overloaded healthcare system.
'Unite 4 Health' is a registered section 21 public benefit organization.
"We are grateful that Lance has accepted the invitation in supporting this campaign," says Dr Jonathan Louw, Adcock Ingram Pharmaceuticals MD.
"Even though his visit is brief, we have tried to maximise his time to allow him to interact with the South African public as well as participate in our planned launch activities."
While in South Africa Lance will be hosting an official press session and visiting projects in Pimville, Soweto.
