SAA will for the fourth consecutive year be the official carrier of the country's premier accolade for achievement by women. As the first major initiative for National Women's Day, the Award honours South African women who have achieved success in their own respective fields and made a difference in their communities, inspiring others to follow.
Sun International's leading Table Bay Hotel at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront will play host to the 27 finalists as well as members of the prestigious panel of judges during the spectacular gala ceremony taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Thursday, 29 July 2004.
This year the Award has grown to include a ninth category, Social Services, while for the first time in its history the Award will not announce an overall winner.
The Shoprite Checkers / SABC 2 Women of the Year Award has changed in title to honour nine winners in nine categories, each receiving R10 000 in prize money.
The announcement of the winners will be the highlight of celebrations to mark National Women's Day on Monday, 9 August 2004, with the broadcast of a television programme at 21h00 on SABC 2.
