World Jazz Awards appoints Openfield as exclusive marketing agency

The arts and entertainment sector continues to evolve globally and events like the World Jazz Awards present a different value proposition to traditional sport.
The three-year appointment, formalised at the end of January, will include the development and implementation of the World Jazz Awards Commercial Partnership Programme, Television Broadcast Negotiation, Event Production, Media, PR and Marketing and VIP Hospitality Management.
"We are thrilled to be working with the World Jazz Awards, as it affords us at Openfield; the opportunity to not only launch this exciting entertainment property globally, but also be part of a global campaign with the most wonderful acknowledgment of the artists that have played a significant role in the evolution of modern music over the years," commented Client Service Director, Debra Barnes.
According to WJA Chairman, Lester Carelse, The World Jazz Awards was created to pay tribute to jazz icons, past and present that have played a significant role in the evolution of modern music over the years.
"The World Jazz Awards has captured the attention of the jazz industry in all corners of the world. We felt the need to appoint a dynamic agency that understands the industry and has the experience and expertise to deliver a world-class event whilst maintaining the integrity of the art," said Carelse.
The World Jazz Awards is a three-day event which takes place annually and aims to recognise and acknowledge jazz legends around the world. Details for the event will be launched soon.
