Jakins to join Peermont Global

Mark Jakins, the SABC's group executive for commercial enterprises, will be leaving the SABC in mid-July 2006 to join listed hotel, gaming and resort company, Peermont Global, where he will head up the group's marketing and commercial interests. Gab Mampone has been appointed as Jakins' successor at the SABC.

During his five years at the SABC, Jakins drove the commercial agenda of the public broadcaster and doubled the size of the company - turnover is nearing the R4 billion mark, grew market share in a highly competitive media market and elevated the company's brand performance and audience loyalty to new heights.

SABC brands have also performed well in industry advertising and marketing awards over the last few years.
