Tourism guide course for stadium staff
Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA), which currently manages FNB Stadium, Orlando Stadium, Dobsonville Stadium and Rand Stadium, has appointed specialist tourism and travel training company, Energy Guides, to provide advanced training to its stadium tour guides.
"Our tour guides are not only ambassadors for our stadiums, but for tourism within Johannesburg and South Africa, so it is important to us that they are trained to a high standard," says Jacques Grobbelaar, chief executive of SMSA.
Content includes information on the history of Johannesburg and South Africa, as well as historical, architectural and sporting information on the venue recognised globally for hosting the opening and ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
