Jewellex gets global attention
The infrastructure requirements included 1493m2 of shell scheme packages and 3754m2 of carpeting. Says Carl Woodland, Chief Operating Officer for Oasys Exhibitions: "We also supplied furniture for the exhibition and almost 400 lighting fixtures. In addition to this, we fitted 125 showcases for display."
The exhibition hosted various educational talks regarding the jewellery industry in South Africa, focusing on topics such as forensic diamonds and gems, challenges facing the industry and retail training and security.
Says Lorna Lloyd, Chief Operations Officer for the Jewellery Council of South Africa: "Jewellex is over thirty years old and is a division of the Jewellery Council of SA. This is the premiere trade fair for the jewellery industry. This year's exhibition was a great success and we sold more exhibition space than previous years."
Sponsors of the exhibition included the European Gemmological Laboratory (EGL), Anglo Platinum, GTI Jewellery, RAM Couriers and Brinks Global Services.
"We have contracted Oasys for a number of years and this partnership has once again ensured that all arrangements run smoothly. Their business process, including key account management match our needs," concludes Lloyd.
