SAICA saddened by death of Professor Russel Botman

"South Africa and academia have lost a leader whose thought leadership contributions spread far wider than the University of Stellenbosch or in any single sphere. It is our sincere wish that the university will continue with the transformational ideals and work initiated by Professor Botman for the future success of South Africa," said SAICA's CEO, Dr Terence Nombembe.

SAICA acknowledges the significant role played by Professor Botman with transformation broadly and of the chartered accountancy profession in particular. The chartered accountancy profession wishes to voice its sincere condolences to Professor Botman's family as well as to the staff of the University of Stellenbosch.

"His inspirational leadership will be sorely missed by all who have experienced the benefit of his innovative influence," concluded Dr Nombembe.
