Cape Town gets Waste in Business seminar

Tomorrow, 14 April 2011, the Waste in Business Seminar and Exhibition will be held at the Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town. This event, convened by Alive2green and the City of Cape Town, provides a platform for education and discussion regarding the new waste management legislation and aims to guide local businesses towards compliance, implementation and waste-aware practices.

The event will bring together delegates, speakers and exhibitors that recognise a need for change and those who have identified the advantages of the mini-economy that will emerge around the rollout of the new waste management act.

Recycling of electronic waste, or e-waste, is an important and delicate process and various groups, including e-Waste Alliance (EWA), Institute of Waste Management of South Africa (IWMSA) and the City of Cape Town's WasteWise campaign will organise an e-waste collection at the event. Delegates are encouraged to bring any old or unwanted electronics for recycling.
