In its statement, the association says Dr Sefularo made a valuable and important contribution to South Africa's healthcare industry and he will be greatly missed. His death is a significant loss to the Department of Health, particularly as it goes about the task of mapping out and implementing its future plans for healthcare delivery in the country.
"Hasa and its members extend their deepest condolences to Dr Sefularo's family," said Hasa CEO, Advocate Kurt Worrall-Clare. "Hasa also offers its assistance to the Department of Health during this difficult time," he said.
Sefularo, 52, died in a car crash on the N4 freeway in Pretoria West on Monday, 5 April 2010.
