International award to South African digital publication

New Media has scooped a Gold Award for Best Web Publication - Digital, at the Pearl Awards, which took place in New York early last week.

The Pearl Awards celebrate excellence in custom content across print, digital and other media platforms. Custom content providers - small and large, B2B and B2C, representing clients in a wide range of industries and producing programmes across multiple outlets, participate in this competitive programme.

The DStv's Dish Premium digital magazine, published by New Media, for MultiChoice, was one of 638 entries in the awards programme, which saw top content publications entered from all over the world. This is the second Pearl for New Media. In 2010, Woolworth's Taste was awarded a Bronze for best cover.

"Ahead in the digital landscape"

"We are honoured to receive this award and be recognised internationally for our digital expertise. It reflects that we are ahead in the digital landscape, not only in South Africa, but internationally too," says New Media group account director, Maria Tiganis.

Since its launch in July 2010, the digital magazine has transformed television highlights into an engaging and exciting experience, with imagery and rich content.
