Kezi Communications bags SA Tourism

After pitching against Meropa, Magna Carta and Hello World, Kezi Communications has emerged triumphant and will take over the South African Tourism (SAT) global and local account from FD Beachhead on Friday, 1 October 2010. This includes including managing 14 international public relations agencies.

Comments Keri-Ann Clark, MD of Kezi Communications, "We all have butterflies as we embark on the most exciting PR journey of our lives. We know that this three year journey will showcase SAT and South Africa in creative and innovative ways as per the spirit of Kezi.

"...We're so chuffed that SAT took a chance on 'the little engine that could'. In terms of SAT's new strategy after the [2010 FIFA] World Cup, I think they were looking for an agency that showed creativity, enthusiasm and drive."

Kezi Communications, which is only five years old, has appointed eight new people dedicated to the SAT account: Bongiwe Seeti - domestic/Africa portfolio (who worked on SA Tourism at FD Beachhead); Charmaine Shangase - business tourism portfolio; Jo Mellon - Tourism Grading Council and corporate portfolio; Neo Phele - product portfolio; Philippa Cross - in-market agencies portfolio; MT Thwala - SADC portfolio (previously worked at Kezi); Anthony Ehlers - writer (previously worked at Kezi); and Kelly White - administrator and mentor (previously worked at Kezi).

Jessica Wheeler, who had been working part-time for Kezi, has been appointed full-time account director responsible for the global portfolio, and overseeing and integrating the new team.
