New Marcus Brewster MD
Formerly national strategic director in the firm, Kaiser joined MBP in 2002 as Johannesburg bureau chief. “In the ensuing half dozen years, Hein has not only helped build MBP into a dynamic, top-of-mind brand in the public relations sector but has been instrumental in growing the company, which has more than doubled in turnover in the last three years alone. His commitment to the business, coupled with his industry intelligence and dedication to staff development, has made him a gifted leader, and thus the natural candidate to identify for succession planning,” said Brewster.
After stints as a journalist on various publications, Kaiser worked in television as a writer, a radio entertainment reporter and co-hosted a music programme. He then spent several years as campaign manager in the leader's office of a prominent South African political party before starting his own PR and publishing consultancy in 1999 and lecturing part-time at a private educational institution.
During his six years tenure at MBP, Kaiser has architected the firm's trajectory as an industry power-house for professional excellence, including an unrivalled track-record as the most awarded PR firm in South Africa. Kaiser is the inaugural winner of the Best Strategist (for low-cost carrier Mango) and Best Creative (for the National Zoological Gardens) trophies at the 2008 PRISM Awards for PR Excellence and created the FMCG category winner that won the 2007 Gold overall for Best PR Campaign of the Year.
Commenting on his promotion, Kaiser said: “The agency's adrenalised climb, specifically in the corporate and public sector practice areas, has been as a result of MBP's commitment to delivery and validation that we make a difference to our clients' businesses. Although I am assuming day-to-day management of indisputably the top PR consultancy in the country, there are many - and higher - peaks to scale beyond our current Everest-summiting stature. I relish the challenge of expanding the firm into new arenas of industry domination and professional excellence.”
