MicroZone PR wins high-tech sector tender
MicroZone will form an integral part of an awareness drive behind a public-private led initiative known as SAVANT. All related communication, spearheaded by the creation of a website, as well as national media activity and various marketing and promotion activity falls under the responsibility of the MicroZone team.
With extensive experience within the field of Information and Communication Technology MicroZone has become a part of what is arguably the sector's most energetic promotions to date. Role-players have highlighted six crucial areas to be marketed, namely: IT Training & Certification, Call Centres, Wireless Development, Pilot Lab, Niche Software Development and Infrastructure Development.
The SAVANT campaign involves the coalition of industry leaders supported by government, represented by the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) and the ICT Development Council. The project has the buy-in of several prominent companies including MTN, MGX, CS Holdings, Comparex Africa, Nedcor, Dimension Data, ABSA, Information Industry SA, the SA Electro Technical Export Council (SAEEC), and Telkom.
Pieter du Plessis, Project co-ordinator and account director at MicroZone PR, is pleased about the outcome of the company's proposal and is determined to make the most of the opportunity to boost the image of the local ICT and Electronics sectors (ICTE).
"This is an incredible opportunity for us and we look forward to playing a large role in the establishment of the SAVANT initiative. South Africa has a lot to offer in terms of ICTE skills. This initiative is a powerful vehicle through which we can really accentuate our skills, training, experience and knowledge," says Du Plessis.
Adrian Schofield, chairperson of SAVANT executive committee says, "We are pleased to have MicroZone on board. The success of the initiative to create a workable, sustainable and attractive marketing portal is dependent on stringent attention to detail and strategic communication. We look forward to a constructive, productive and energetic working relationship."
