MicroZone PR wins high-tech sector tender

Pretoria-based public relations and communications agency, MicroZone PR, has won a large-scale ICT, Electronics and Communications tender. Backed by government and led by industry, the tender centres around the formulation of a marketing and communications strategy to promote the South African sector both at home and abroad.

MicroZone will form an integral part of an awareness drive behind a public-private led initiative known as SAVANT. All related communication, spearheaded by the creation of a website, as well as national media activity and various marketing and promotion activity falls under the responsibility of the MicroZone team.

With extensive experience within the field of Information and Communication Technology MicroZone has become a part of what is arguably the sector's most energetic promotions to date. Role-players have highlighted six crucial areas to be marketed, namely: IT Training & Certification, Call Centres, Wireless Development, Pilot Lab, Niche Software Development and Infrastructure Development.

The SAVANT campaign involves the coalition of industry leaders supported by government, represented by the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) and the ICT Development Council. The project has the buy-in of several prominent companies including MTN, MGX, CS Holdings, Comparex Africa, Nedcor, Dimension Data, ABSA, Information Industry SA, the SA Electro Technical Export Council (SAEEC), and Telkom.

Pieter du Plessis, Project co-ordinator and account director at MicroZone PR, is pleased about the outcome of the company's proposal and is determined to make the most of the opportunity to boost the image of the local ICT and Electronics sectors (ICTE).
