The Pink Chronicles

Do Productions and Redcan, which are in the development phase of a new documentary on the life, times and evolution of sexuality in the Apartheid era up until today, are currently looking for archive footage, home cinemas/videos, photographs, documents and anecdotes depicting any relevant characters and events from the 1960s through to the present.

Through this historical and drama-based documentary, to be directed by Fred Abrahamse, the team intends to explore the many pioneers of gay and lesbian organisations, the personalities and drag artists, legislation at the time and the political landscape defining government and military position, not forgetting (enforced) sex change operations, and the social and cultural exchanges in the many and varied gay and lesbian communities.

Most importantly, there will be recognition of the characters that defined and conquered, liberating the struggle for sexual equality.

If anyone has a story to tell, please contact the production team on cell +27 (0)73 554 4213.
