MoovaMoney is a new platform for customers to deposit, send and withdraw cash instantly, using their mobile phones. It will be available through the group’s stores: Edgars, Edgars Connect, Jet/Jet Mart and CNA.

“In the past Edgars, Jet and CNA stores have been at the forefront of bringing innovative consumer centric solutions that addressed the challenges that were faced by many ordinary South Africans. Our MoovaMoney solution will now allow our customers greater convenience and the ability to use the power of mobile technology to transact effortlessly and conveniently,” says Andy Jury, chief executive of Edcon.

In order to use MoovaMoney services, one must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID, mobile number and older than 18 years of age. To register on the platform, customers can dial *120*334# from their mobile phones. Once registered they will be able to purchase airtime, data, electricity and other value-added services.
