Live Out Loud hosts media bash in CT

Live Out Loud, an exclusive monthly retail publication aimed at high net worth individuals, held its annual media bash at the Villa Zest Boutique Hotel in Green Point. The evening, themed retro-glam, saw the likes of Marcus Brewster, CEO of Marcus Brewster Publicity, and winner of the SA Blog of the Year 2009 award, Two Ocean's Vibe editor, Seth Rotherham, on the VIP guest list.

While most didn't feel inspired enough to don anything related to the theme, many indulged in head bands, strippy suits, glamourous hairdos and fancy dresses. The bash, held on Thursday, 14 May 2009, was an exquisite one, catered for around the patio poolside area of the hotel. While the rain continued to pour outside, guests stayed dry under the marqueed area sipping Don Julio sponsored cocktails and feasting on delicious canapes provided courtesy of Sinns Restaurant.

The live entertainment for the evening was provided by Ricky Botsis, who added a cabaret-like atmosphere as he moved through the crowd singing songs from the Beatles to Creedence Clearwater Revival with Idol's star, Graeme Watkins, making a guest appearance. Among the guests was Top Billing presenter, Janeez Vermeuren; Dan Nicholl, editor and sports MC personality; SA model, Lisa Cowley; and ex-international model, Samantha Ann Pegg.

Colin Moss, who arrived fashionably late, was MC for the event, handling general introductions and prize-giving. The luxury give-aways included a two-day stay at the Villa Zest for two, a lesson in helicopter flying courtesy of Heli, a pair of glamourous sunglasses from Extreme Eyewear, as well as various other valuable prizes.

Guests were allowed private tours of the boutique hotel at their leisure. Villa Zest offers designer luxury accommodation that has a fresh, minimalist feel to it with ballchairs in the lounge area providing a new-age setting.

On the way out everyone was treated to a goodie bag that featured gifts from various sponsors of the event. The sponsors included Don Julio, Allee Bleue, Ceres, Schweppes, Vitamin Water, Gourmet Goddess, Sinns Restaurant, Leica, Colosseum Hotel, Heli, Comfort Zone, Equinox Spa, Extreme Eyewear, Mobelli, The Treat Company, Glen Carlou, Villa Zest, ATU Security, One 80, Vida E Caffe, Cesar/Sheba and Valpre.
