Major campaign for Father's Day
The CNA Father's Day promotion, run in conjunction with leading publishers Ramsay, Son & Parker, offers consumers the opportunity to win fantastic prizes by entering a competition available only in the CNA copies of CAR, Getaway, Compleat Golfer and WINE magazines.
The prize up for grabs this year is a Mitsubishi Colt Rodeo 4x4, valued at
R290 000.
"This is the biggest prize we have offered yet," explained Ramsay, Son & Parker's promotions manager, Sally van der Valk. "For an outlay of between R15 and R20, readers stand the chance of winning incredible value. Father's Day is the ideal time to offer added value to our predominantly male readership and we anticipate the prize will draw a record number of sales."
Traditionally CNA sales of RS&P's smaller titles increase by 50 to 60 per cent and the bigger titles by 100 per cent during the Father's Day promotion, but the publishers are confident of exceeding these figures significantly this year, Van der Valk said.
The campaign is receiving greater retail support from CNA, with prime exposure through POS posters, preferential in-store and window displays, dump bins, gondola and MPU positioning, publicity in CNA's own multimedia advertising campaign and, in the top CNA stores, special Father's Day staff t-shirts and balloons carrying the magazines' logos.
The RS&P/CNA campaign, the biggest retail promotion in the magazine sector, this year sees radio partner 5fm add its weight to the campaign. For the first time competition hopefuls can enter a daily draw for a hamper of goodies on 5fm, while all entries, print and radio, will go into the final draw, when the winner will be selected live on Father's Day. The promotion will receive three weeks of exposure on 5fm across all time slots.
