The procession will proceed via Mhloka Street and join Modjadji Street, turning left into Klipspruit Valley Road and heading towards Kliptown. The parade will end at Walter Sisulu Square, which will then come to life with a variety of dance and music performances.
Gauteng Dance Manyano, formed in 2001 as a dance network of choreographers, teachers, companies, dancers and schools, is managing the event. The carnival troupes taking part are drawn mainly from the ranks of Soweto's youth, empowering them through workshops, performances and the construction of floats, costumes and props.
