FNA has secured in excess of 60 group bookings, ranging from groups of 20 to groups of 5200. In addition, it has received several bookings from various major European football clubs and is assisting several embassies and VIPs with accommodation.
CEO Dave Varney attributes the company's success to its value-for-money approach, combined with its services, offering visitors and tour/group operators a one-stop facility. It has since inception, consistently advised its establishment and property owners to keep their rates reasonable, which almost all have done with commensurate reservation results. It continues to provide very competitive rates to international guests needing accommodation during June and July.
“The expected reservation pattern was severely impacted by the ticketing process, the impact of the recession and the ‘wait and see' attitude of supporters,” said Varney, who has more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. “As we get closer to kick off, we have seen a steady increase, which in May will probably be frenetic, but the group stage booking period is going brilliantly.”
