Management changes at proximity#ttp

Passion, energy, youth and experience sum up the four recent appointments at proximity#ttp. In view of its growth and expansion, proximity#ttp has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Tiekie Barnard as GM, Stu Stobbs as creative partner, Malcolm King as creative director (art) and Claire Othenin-Girard as group account director.

“I am confident that the combined expertise, vibrancy and creativity of this management team will handle the unprecedented growth we are enjoying,” says Nici Stathacopoulos, managing partner proximity#ttp.

Barnard brings to her role understanding and experience in internal operations, workflow, process and procedures. She joins proximity#ttp from Net#work BBDO where she was the operating systems director. She currently is still responsible for BBDO SA Operating Systems. Apart from her passion for her work, Bob Marley and her daughters, Barnard believes that a spirit of true caring for clients, the work and each other coupled with team work will propel proximity#ttp to the heights needed for real success.

Spearhead creative direction

In his new role as creative partner, Stobbs, who was previously creative director at proximity#ttp, will continue to play a strategic role in spearheading the creative direction of the agency. With numerous local and international awards under his belt and abundant energy, Stobbs will devote his efforts to creating maverick ideas that change consumer behaviour across all mediums.

King has 11 years experience in art direction and design work for above, below, and through the line marketing. Although he has been at the agency for a year, his significant contribution has led to this promotion. He has worked on clients in the telecommunication, retail, financial services, FMCG and automotive industry sectors.

Othenin-Girard brings with her a wealth of through the line experience from eight years at Ogilvy and two years at Telesure. She will add both account management and strategic expertise to the agency.

Established in January 2006 with an initial staff of three, the marketing services agency now employs 26 people offering the full spectrum of communication services. It focuses on breakthrough behavior-changing ideas.
